With lots of gifted talent nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture to Best Supporting Actress — Television, we picked which actor outdid themselves on the red carpet, in their respective category

As the night goes on, our top picks will be added.
It’s that time of year again, the 82nd Golden Globes are taking place live from The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, and we’re here for the red-carpet fashion. Airing at 8pm ET on CBS, red carpet fashion starts at 6:30 PM ET on goldenglobes.com, ETOnline.com, and Paramount+.

Previous Golden Globes winners Zoe Saldana, Kieran Culkin, Timothee Chalamet, and Kate Winslet

Comedian Nikki Glasser is presenting, and this year’s nominees include Zendaya (“Challengers”), Angelina Jolie (“Maria”), Colman Domingo (“Sing Sing”), and Timothée Chalamet (“A Complete Unknown”). The latter is known for is free red-carpet expression, so it will be interesting to see what he, his stylist, and the brand he’s wearing comes up with.

There’s a trend tonight on the red carpet with the men. Velvet blazers are king with Edgar Ramirez, Daniel Craig, and Glen Powell are rocking black velvet blazers, giving a bit of texture. Jeremy Strong who’s nominated for Best Supporting Actor for The Apprentice is in velvet from head to toe. The actor is wearing a turquoise velvet hat and suit. And for the women, metallics are queen. Mindy Kayling, Nicole Kidman, and Angelia Jolie are sparkling on the Globes red carpet.

Instead of just including a list of best dressed actors, we’re choosing the best dressed actors in their nominated category.
