What's in Your Hand? - Relationships

The Lord has placed another series on my heart, the topic is focused on the fact that we can often lose sight of what we have in the now. What’s In Your Hand will cover: the relationships in our lives, our jobs, our family, and our gifting- and how we can forget that these things God has given us are to be nurtured.

To whom much is given, much is required. Human beings can be impatient, ready for the next thing, when God is asking, “what are you doing with what’s in your hand now- with what I have given you?” Why should God bless us with more or take us to new levels when we haven’t mastered nurturing what we have now?

Thinking of relationships, who has God put in your life (your hand) to bless you, nurture you, to serve you and for you to serve? The people in our lives that mean us well, that speaks life into us, that care about us, that doesn’t see us as competition and that would give us the shirt off their own backs if we needed have been placed in OUR HANDS for a reason.

I think sometimes we get consumed in the busyness of our lives, the problems of our lives, and the joys of our lives that we can lose sight of the people God has strategically placed in our lives. Or, we simply prematurely weed out the wrong people who have been placed in our lives by God. Now, we can’t have everyone in our lives. But, we should do a careful assessment to consider that some people are blessings.

If we lose sight of the people that are blessings we can miss God- and in a way it's frustrating the love of God. Frustrating His love in such a way that you're preventing Him from loving you through the people/ relationships that He has put in your hands now. TD Jakes put it like this:

"Most people who frustrate the love of God frustrate the love of others. When you don't feel worthy of love, you find some slick way to mess it up every time. Some excuse to blow it up every time, so you live in the valley of sorrow and regrets, because you have owned it and made it yours."

If God has given you a church friend, school friend, potential good girl/ boyfriend, work colleague, or whatever- nurture it. When we are faithful with the people He has put in our hands then He will put more people, and the right people in our lives later for us to do great things in this world.

Life has it's challenges but we must strive to be faithful to His gifts and the relationships He has given to us.

Happy Friday!
