Walk it Out & Talk It Out

…”In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5) What do you do when you have Jesus and have made Him your personal Lord and Savior, but when the pressures of life kick in- in seasons when it feels joy has been temporally suspended, unfortunate situations with people happen, or unexplainable things pop up- you just want to hide under the covers?

Christianity is not a spectator faith. We weren’t put on this earth grow in our faith from the sidelines, to be appeased and be made happy. We’ve been put on this earth to glorify God, love one another, to be the hands and feet of Jesus on this earth, to use our gifts and talents for the purpose of serving our generation, and to allow the Holy Spirit to change our hearts as we go on this journey of life.

Specifically speaking, in those moments in life where we might find other people challenging and difficult we must plug into the Power Source [God] and talk to Him first before we talk to that person (or people). Christine Caine worded it perfectly in a recent Instagram post:

Sometimes you need to walk it out & talk it out with God. Over & over again. If you don't, you will stuff down your hurt feelings, offenses, pain, unforgiveness, injustice, bitterness or confusion and will end up exploding somewhere.

You will say things you will later regret. You will do things you will later regret. You will think things you will later regret. You will write things you will later regret.

God must become our "go to" before we go to people. Some things only God needs to hear. He can handle absolutely anything, but people cannot. So be careful that your toxic emotions are not poisoning someone else's root system. (Having said that, it is always good to get WISE counsel & talk to FAITHFUL TRUSTWORTHY friends). But get into the habit of working through things with Jesus and you will free up many of your people from having to come through for you like only Jesus can.

Happy Friday xx!
