A Greener World: 2 Super Fashionable Ways to Do Good for the Planet

Who says that doing something good for the planet means wearing unfashionable clothes? Currently there’s a plethora of options available at every budget. Not only that, but you can also get comfortable clothes that look good on you while they also do good for the planet. Now that’s a fashion option that I like.

You might think that clothing made from recycled materials won’t look as good as clothing made from completely novel materials, but you’d be surprised. Well for those that haven’t tried clothes made from such materials are completely oblivious to the fact that such clothes look just as new as clothes made from completely new fibers. I recently bought some new shirts from a well-known high-street brand, and I was pleasantly surprised that you can get new shirts made from recycled materials and still look fabulous! Not only that, but the quality was amazing, and the price was good that I ended up buying not one but quite a few such shirts. A few days later when I browsed for more clothes, I ended up finding out that quite a few popular brands had taken the initiative of making such clothing. Buying clothes that have a positive impact on the environment and knowing that such beautiful clothing was made from recycled materials made me feel even better knowing that I too was also contributing to a greener world.

Another option is buying clothes made from organic materials. There’s a whole bunch of brands that make lovely clothes from organic materials such as organic cotton and dyes, and the clothes look as good as they feel. If you can’t find an item of clothing made completely of organic materials, the next best option is to go for clothing made from partial organic materials like jeans made of organic cotton, but the dye is not organic. When you really check what you buy beforehand, you start to realize just how much our shopping habits affect the state of the environment.

So, think twice before you buy something that looks good but is not so good for the environment. Do you really want to buy a pair of jeans that took so much water to produce, or a shirt made from harmful dyes? I don’t think so. A lot of brands have shifted their focus on producing more environmentally conscious clothing. Know what you buy and don’t just buy clothes because they look or feel beautiful. Buy clothes because they also do good for the world and help us create a greener, brighter future for us all.
