Chef Pepe Moncayo’s restaurant Arrels is located on the ground floor. Designed with Spanish style, which represent the chef’s origins, guests will be mesmerized with terracotta tiles, exposed brick and textured plaster. The food is traditional Spanish under a curated menu with dishes cooked over an open fire, which brings out a rich flavor to the tapas. There is also a ground floor bar associated with Arrels, serving crafted cocktails with an essence of Spain. Because DC is very kinesthetic during the weekday, the hotel has taken notice of this and incorporated grab-and-go breakfast and lunch items, created by Chef Moncayo.

On the rooftop bar is the pool and a lounge with food created by Chef Moncayo. There you can dine on Japanese-style hand rolls, yakitori and other specialized dishes.

Meeting space

Most all DC hotels have fully functioning meeting spaces, as it’s a city of conferences, balls, and galas. Arlo is taking advantage of this and has a 4,287 square foot event space, including five meeting rooms. It’s also within walking distance to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

An eco friendly hotel

By Spring 2025 the hotel aims to achieve LEED certification. The property is demonstrating over 25% reduction in energy cost and will have a 6,000-square-foot green roof, including a 12,000-gallon cistern to capture rainwater that will be treated and reused on-site, according to announcement notes.

As an opening promotion the hotel is offering 47% off as a nod to the future 47th president that will take office on January 20, 2025.
