Change Your Mind, Conquer 2022

Using your talents for Gods Glory | Use your one talent, don’t bury it in the sand

The Parable of the Talents Matt 25:14-30

Now before we get into this, let’s have a quick conversation about SpongeBob Square Pants.  So I was watching SpongeBob this past weekend and there is a character in the cartoon only known to regular SpongeBob watchers and his name is Mr Plankton. Mr. Plankton owns the rival restaurant called the Chum Bucket.

The Chum Bucket is a restaurant that does not have a single customer whereas the restaurant SpongeBob works at, the Crusty Crab has lots of customers, and the owner Mr. Crab has a secret burger recipe, the secret crusty crab crabby patty recipe. Plankton is always creating all these elaborate schemes and gadgets to try and enter the Crusty Crab restaurant and steal the secret formula to basically use it for himself to succeed in the burger business.  He has created mind control devices, gadgets to propel himself into the Crusty Crab, and even devises to shrink himself and enter the restaurant without being seen. He is basically trying to get rich but He is trying to get rich by replicating someone else’s idea.

Now how many of us see someone succeeding in a certain area- business, and or ministry and try copy it, failing only to find ourselves disappointed.

If we go to Matthew 25: 14 – 30, we find three servants.  The master is going away and leaves his three servants with some talents.  These talents have been given and distributed by the master according to the servant’s abilities (What this means is that the Master did not give anyone person more than what they can handle).

Verse fifteen tells us that the talents where distributed five, two and one according to the servants abilities.  The Master left and of course expected that the servants would use their talents. The bible tells us that the one with five talents invested and received five more talents, the servant with two talents likewise invested his talents and received two more talents, while the servant with one talent, took his one talent and buried it and waited for the Master to come back.

As we begin the year let us seek the Lord (The Sovereign God) and ask Him what His plans are for us in 2022, He has already released everything you need to succeed and thrive in this new year, all we have to do is use what’s already in our hands and multiply it.

Draw near to God in this year, focus on what He has placed in your hands and conquer and thrive in this 2022.

“But Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew6:33 KJV
