Tamara Ralph Does It Again: She Creates An Enviable Collection

The Fall 2024 Couture collection is sleek and refined, exuding Parisian chic elegance

Ralph has gone from pearls to bows. Glamorous, classy, and refined describes Tamara Ralph’s Fall 2024 Couture collection that was unveiled at the Collége de Bemardins on Monday in Paris. There’s a bold elegance about Ralph, a regality in how the designer from Down Under carries herself that translates in her sartorial storytelling.

This collection is all about love, where she somehow is able to capture the City of Lights and its sophistication and passion. “French elegance sits at the heart of the collection, showcased through delicate lace and crystal stockings that exude an exquisite magnetism and refinement,” states the House in notes. Perhaps Ralph’s move from England to France has something to do with this. You can tell she has put her heart and soul into this collection, and all her collections. She is a natural-born designer with an eye for what looks good and what looks great.

There’s sparkle with crystals, there's drama with black crocodile effects, there’s feathers for flamboyance, and there’s color for enchantment. Ruby red and pale pink brings playfulness and passion. The opening looks was a showstopper in and of itself. The black and white design and how Ralph has draped it onto the female form is genius. Eva Cavalli once said to me, “there are a lot of great men designers out there but I know what women want, I know where they feel comfortable and where they don’t.” And Ralph, knowing what it feels like to be a woman is able to capture the areas that women want to show off like the shoulders, or hide, like the hips.

Pairing an evening gown with a blazer brings a touch of business-like sensibility to evening glamor. There’s something 1940s about the looks too, something very yesteryear about it all that I like- maybe it’s the millinery, which I also like. Feathers capes add volume and hints of tweed add flavor. Red carpet looks, cocktail party looks, or going out to dinner with girlfriends- or date night there’s something for everyone. But the Tamara Ralph woman is feminine, so just keep that in mind.
