The Gaurav Gupta SS24 Couture Collection Through Pictures

This was the designer’s third show in Paris

Gaurav Gupta is known for his surrealism, and there’s certainly a place for it in fashion. Cardi B is a lover of the style, and has donned the Indian label a time or two. We’re seeing more and more surrealism on the red carpet. During this current award’s season Natasha Lyonne wore Schiaparelli, Natalie Portman donned a Dior surrealism look, Rosamund Pike, Lily Gladstone, Ayo Edebiri, and Da’Vine Randolf Joy have all been changing up their styles with this type of art.

With the theme of Aarohanam, a Sanskrit word meaning ‘gross to subtle, from solid to sublime, from darkness to light.’ To tell this surrealism story, Gupta incorporated cropped jackets, exaggerated capes, fluid trench coats and sculpted metal structures. The third Indian designer to ever present on the Haute Couture calendar, this was his third show in the city of lights.
