Tony Ward’s La Mariée Fall 2024 Collection Channels Themes Of Chess

Feminine, romantic, and elegant are the words that describe this new collection. Taking on an idea of playing chess, its theme of ‘A Game of Two,’ concludes that it is love that wins in the end.

Black or white, queen or knight, impulsive thinking or not, Who’s winning anyways? Love always wins.
— Collection notes.

The Pace gown with a turtle neck high collar and silver threads that sparkles, shines in a princess cut silhouette. To highlight the female shape, Ward incorporated a silk Mikado bow belt that highlights the waist. The Gallant gown is embroidered lace stitched on a silk Mikado A-shaped dress and strapless corset with bold motifs. The V-shaped accent in the corset and flowers, which are seen in the matching veil makes the gown stand out.

There’s something in the collection for every woman, a look that will satiate her individual taste- a main element that Ward is able to capture with this collection. The idea that this game starts with the bride, that as she enters in an off-shoulder ball gown and eye-catching corset all eyes are on her. But, as she moves she could change in a long-sleeved gown with embroidered detailing on her skirt, yet still, she can also shine in a silk taffeta A-line dress- like the Cadence gown.

Unique shapes and folds like the Stratagem gown, and the patterned embroidered sheer Valorous gown that hugs a women’s body elongates her form with a sleeve-like overskirt. But, it’s the Breach gown that has a nostalgic touch of the 1970s, with a classical yet sassy romantic corset bodice. From the high collar and shimmery lace embroidery, it’s a modern touch to what your mother or grandmother may have worn on her wedding day.

Ever gifted, Tony Ward is able to create collections that speaks to the soul of women. Often times you hear women fashion designers say that they know what women wants in terms of design because they are women- they know how high to make the slit, they know which parts of her body that a woman wants to accentuate or cover. But Ward is able to see and design sensual yet tasteful looks for women that are professional and adult-like that makes a woman feel like a woman. This bridal collection is no different. It’s very grown up and ensured to make a woman feel like a queen on her big day.
