What's Next

We live in this constant cycle of “What's Next”. We are blessed with phenomenal opportunities but the second it is over, we want more. We are in a society ridden by the desire to have things now, i.e., instant gratification culture. The problem with this is that God didn't create us to be like this. God created us to live lives that bring Him praise, honor, and glory. He didn’t create us for our own selfish pride and ambition. He wants us to be content with what we have but know that He has more in store for us. The Apostle Paul says in 1 Timothy 6:6-12 “But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.”

I know this isn’t how the human brain is wired. We are human, we want things when we want it and honestly, we want things quick, fast and in a hurry. The problem with that is we forget about the journey, the process of actually receiving what Christ has in store for us. This process is important, it is a necessary step in the equation that cannot be overlooked. God wants to see the dedication You have to Him.

Philippians 4:11-13 “Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me”.

The Apostle Paul is truly one of my favorite theologians because he is truly connected to Christ. He and God are on the same wavelength to where he feels comfortable where he is at, he isn't worried about what tomorrow will bring but more about what Christ wants for him.

Be present in the now and trust Christ to make the next move for you.
