Encounter God’s Heart… Reconciliation

From "Firstfruits" written by Brian Simmons and Gretchen Rodriguez

God is in the business of reconciliation, especially between loved ones. Hurtful words, actions, and misunderstandings are often challenging to get past when they’ve left wounds. But nothing is impossible for God! He can heal any trauma. He’s more than capable of doing what seems unlikely when it comes to matters of the heart.

If you’re holding unforgiveness, today is your opportunity to release it to the Lord. While you cannot change others, you can be in charge of your own heart. You can take the stance of mercy and choose to forgive (sometimes more than once, while God heals your heart). If you have wronged someone, ask them and the Lord for forgiveness. Love always reaches out, so do your part to initiate reconciliation. If you feel the Holy Spirit tugging on your heart while reading this, ask him to lead you in the ways of restoration.

Father, I lift (name the person) before you. I pray you would reveal the truth and bring every lie to the light. Soften the hearts of everyone involved and bring restoration to our lives. I forgive (name) and ask for forgiveness on my part. Heal our relationship and our hearts.

Scripture

Esau ran to Jacob and hugged him! He threw his arms around Jacob’s neck, he kissed him, and they wept in each other’s arms.
