His Triune Glory
In Revelation 19: 11-16 Jesus is mentioned that He will return on a white horse with hooves thundering the earth with a sound, triumphant and terrifying, declaring "the King has come." A white horse is a symbol of victory and conquest- our King Jesus.
I always like going to John 17 to be reminded that Jesus prayed for me right before His unfair trial and crucifixion. In fact, He prayed for Himself, His disciples, and for all believers to come.
For the next three weeks I want to cover our triune God in relation to earthly relationships.

Our triune God in the coming weeks
Our relationship with our earthly father often mirrors our relationship to God the Father and how we see Him. For those who have bad earthly fathers, it’s often hard for them to see God as being a loving God.
Our relationship with people often mirrors our relationship to Jesus and how we view Him. For those who have rocky relationships with people, it’s often hard for them to understand Jesus and His extraordinary love and selflessness towards people.
And, our relationship with our earthly mothers often mirrors our relationship to the Holy Spirit and how we see Him. The Holy Spirit is the motor of love inside of us, given the name of the Comforter. The Holy Spirit is sensitive and desires to be desired. We were made to have intimacy with the Holy Spirit. I don’t want to get to deep here but we see feminine aspects to the nature of God. I’m not saying God is a woman. He is a Spirit. But, how we relate to and understand the Holy Spirit often mirrors how we see our own mothers. Anyways, more on that later.

Before I dive into these aspects of our triune God, I just want to remind us that in John 17, we see HIS glory as Father, HIS glory as Son, and HIS glory through us by way of the Holy Spirit in this chapter. We see our glorified God is unified, and we see how much our God loves humanity. Right up until the time Jesus was to be arrested, He was praying for us to be unified. As He carried the cross He was thinking of the church, and He was providing a way for humanity to make it home.
“Whenever you are tempted to doubt God’s love, read John 17 slowly, listen to God talking to God, and thank Him for including you in the story of glory.”
This weekend, take a moment to read John 17. Reflect on the fact that our triune God is there for you as a Father, as a friend, as a comforter, and as a guide ready to help you go out into the world to serve and love others.
