Waiting on Prayer - Part 2

In April I shared my testimony and the post was called Waiting on Prayer.  I feel very strongly to continue the series with Part 2 for this month. In my prayer and devotions this week I had a phrase come to mind and it was this: “Human nature wants the blessing urgently, but God wants to release the blessing perfectly.”

I like to call my current season one of new beginnings. It is one of refining, remodeling, and the final stage of construction before the “Plan” is unveiled. As I draw closer to God he draws closer to me and reveals himself intimately in the secret place of my heart and my life overall. It’s a rich season, I wish I had been here sooner, but alas, “for such a time as this” I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’m rediscovering who I am in Christ with new spiritual eyes, and with a greater discernment that is strengthening my inner man.  Much like all seasons of change, there comes new limits of testing and prayer request. I have some substantial prayer requests; some answered and some still yet to come.

This week has been what I call a miracle week! Two prayers answered after much time sequestered in my home prostrate before the Lord.  I heard a prophetic word shared at church a few weeks ago and it really encouraged me. The word was “This is the line in the sand moment for you. You have positioned yourself, you have done all you can do in your obedience. Now you must remain faithful because God will test you. He wants you to understand that no matter the request, He is your only provider. Let Him show you what He can do. His resources have no limit.”

These words rang back to me because one of the requests I continually brought before the Lord was significant. My back was literally up against the wall uncertain of the outcome and how everything would work together for good, but I remained faithful and prayed continuously much like 1 Thessalonians 5:16 describes.  In my prayer time I had a new song birth in my Spirit and it was a moment of surpassing peace that captivated me. I sang a new song unto the Lord: “In the name of Jesus, all things will come to pass. There is power in the name of Jesus and all things shall come to pass. There is glory in the name of Jesus and all things shall come to pass.”

This song is an intimate reminder that no matter the scale of our requests to Abba Father, know that He hears it all. He does not wage the importance of our requests, otherwise 1 Thessalonians would be null and void. Our appeals to God do not fall on faint ears, but rather they go to the very Throne Room of God. Understanding the power of the Throne Room should build a confidence in us. For it is the Throne Room of God that is a place of praise, grace, perfect justice, majesty and honor. All of these attributes are direct parallels of request and responses initiated by communicating with God, which can only be done by means of Prayer.
